color, Inc., creator of Remote Director, the world’s leading digital color proofing solution, announces a presence at virtual.drupa in partnership with Stora Enso Paper. As drupa, the world’s leading trade show for print technologies, was cancelled for 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic, “virtual.drupa” was created as a four-day digital event. Stora Enso will be exhibiting to showcase their upgraded Softproofing service. Powered by Remote Director, the Softproofing Network by Stora Enso is a cloud-based digital proofing solution that creates color accurate monitor proofs for review and approval in hours, not days, as well as making digital color proofing affordable to everyone.

“Even before the pandemic, the digital development in the proofing process was very fast-paced,” says Martin Storm, Technical Sales Manager at Stora Enso’s Paper Division. “When compared to the conventional paths for quality checks that we have been using for the last 20 to 30 years, it’s much faster. Now we’re trying to go one step further by expanding the soft proofing service. By using soft proofing, our customers not only save on delivery costs and business trips, but they can also save anywhere from two to five weeks by noting changes on the materials that can be seen by the printer right away.”

“When I was first introduced to Stora Enso, I asked myself why one of the largest paper manufacturers in Europe would want to promote digital proofing,” states Dan Caldwell, President of ICScolor, Inc. “Stora Enso has a technical resource center with in-depth knowledge of prepress and print which focuses on print quality upstream. They recognized that an accurate color proof is essential to guarantee a quality print run and Remote Director provides the only solution that will create a proof including the simulation of the Store Enso paper used on press.

Our presentations at virtual.drupa will focus on our technical services,” states Martin Gercke, Vice President of Technical Sales at Stora Enso. “Our Softproofing service, is now offered as a remote, cloud-based service that can be used anywhere around the globe. We’ll be able to show in our sessions just exactly how this service works.” Caldwell concludes, “Softproofing by Stora Enso is powered by Remote Director and we look forward to being at the virtual.drupa event together. Our solution is fully digital, saves time and cost and is environmentally responsible.”

The date of “virtual.drupa” falls within the period originally planned for drupa: April 20 to 23, 2021. To register free for the event, please visit https://bit.ly/drupastoraenso
