COLOR22 Reflections

 In Events, Industry Trends

It was good to be back at a live event after two years of Zooming. The venue in La Jolla next to Tory Pines Golf Course was excellent and San Diego weather was normal which means that it was perfect. Seeing colleagues and friends in person really makes a big difference.

Of course, the conference attendance was down understandably as we’re still in the midst of Covid but organizers did well following protocols to keep us all safe and healthy. We were both surprised and pleased to find that many (about a third) of the attendees were first timers to the Color conference.

ICScolor was joined by about a dozen other companies in the exhibit area to talk with attendees and demo our products. The three session tracks were on topic and well attended. The Keynote presentations were excellent — entertaining as well as informative.

Some interesting things I saw worth sharing:

  • A new trend in interoperability standard between PQM solutions
  • A better understanding and acceptance of LED lighting
  • Color reproduction across technologies such as fabric, flooring, billboards and packaging.

I am very pleased with the outcome ICScolor had at the event. The global pandemic and rise in remote work has dramatically accelerated the need for Digital Color Proofing in the print and brand worlds. I had great conversations with many companies large and small who showed a strong interest in Remote Director and the ProofCheck workstation.

Join us next at LUXEPackLA, February 23-24!
